St. Peter Catholic Church Communications
A DREAM...a VISION…a GOAL. These are required for God’s people to move forward. Our church has always had a vision of what God has called us to accomplish; “As people of God, we create a community of Faith by proclaiming and teaching God's Word, celebrating the Sacred Mysteries and serving people: the Ministry of Word, Worship and Service.” In keeping with this vision, we respond to the opportunity before us through our parish strategic master plan.
We continue to work with the Diocese for the next approval in the process. The good news is that we have meetings scheduled with the Diocese. Our journey in this approval process brings to mind a recent scripture where the disciples were out on a frustrating fishing journey, a long night and no fish. In the end the disciples had a sense of being taken care of, nets full of fish, with Our Lord awaiting them on shore with food and love! Difficulties and frustration take place in our lives. Often, it is not how we see the plan unfolding, but how we unfold God's plan. As this journey unfolds, please continue with your prayers.
There are some 'behind the scenes activities' occurring, primarily planning for our Capital Campaign. While we do not want to get too far ahead of ourselves, we do want to be ready, and have plans in place to launch the Capital Campaign shortly after approval comes from the Diocese. There have been discussions with some Parishioners about taking leadership positions in the Campaign. The Campaign will involve 10 - 12 different Groups or Teams, all working together for the success of the Campaign. The leaders of these Teams will comprise the Campaign Cabinet. Each Team will be filled with Parishioners like yourselves. Our aim is to involve as many Parishioners as possible in the Campaign.
Achieving the goals of our Parish will be a big task. The Capital Campaign will raise money to address important needs in St. Peter Church and a Gathering Area for Fellowship. This is an exciting time for our faith family as we make plans that will benefit us now and for generations to come! To paraphrase Father Fabio, that is why we continue as a community of faith and hope, proclaiming that He is risen. Nothing, nobody can impede us. For those coming here to Saint Peter, we want to Build a Legacy: Solidly Established On the Rock.
You will be hearing more about our Facility Project in the near future, as soon as we complete the next step with the Diocese. In the mean time, it is important for all of us to remain patient and continue to pray for St. Peter Parish.
Let us all pray that we keep our hearts open to the call of Jesus in our lives. AMEN!
